Moscow and St Petersburg to be linked by high-speed hourly train service

High-speed Russian train service Sapsan will start to run between Moscow and St. Petersburg every hour from this October.

The Sapsan services have been running since 2009 and there are currently up to ten services a day between the two cities.

The new hourly timetable is expected to serve seven million travellers per year. Journey time between Moscow and St Petersburg is around four hours.
