Dubai sees popularity rise with business travellers

The increase in the number of meetings and conferences being hosted in Dubai is positioning the destination as a global hub for creation, education and innovation.

This is according to Dubai Tourism, which last month released figures highlighting how Dubai's popularity with international business and leisure visitors continues to rise.

The destination has achieved higher rankings with a number of meeting indexes, including those from the International Congress & Convention Association, rising to 44th from 63rd place in 2014, and the Union of International Association. The latter announced recently that Dubai has hosted 146 international meetings in 2014, compared to 80 in 2013.

The emirate has also retained its top ranking in the Middle East region for international association meetings.
