VisitScotland showcase targets north of England

Event organisers from the north of England will be treated to a Scottish showcase next week when VisitScotland's Business Events team hosts 'Scotland in Manchester'.

The annual event, which will see 14 of Scotland’s leading venues showcased at the city’s Hotel Gotham, takes place next week, on 15 June.

As part of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, gin expert Victor Brierley from Glasgow-based Liquor to Lips will conduct a special tasting session, which will include the first ever public tasting of Red Squirrel’s Ginger Nut Liqueur.

Moira Unwin, from VisitScotland’s Business Events team, said: "This year’s Scotland in Manchester at Hotel Gotham promises to be our most memorable yet. The north of England is a very important market for business events in Scotland and we are looking forward to introducing these leading event organisers to some of our country’s top venues. We will be celebrating Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink during a relaxed evening which will show exactly why Scotland is the perfect choice for meetings and incentives."

Top venues from all over the country will be appearing at Scotland in Manchester, including Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (Glasgow), Assembly Rooms Edinburgh, The Balmoral Hotel, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, Trump Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort, The Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness and The Royal Yacht Britannia.
