EICC wins three international association conferences

The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has secured three association conference contracts and seen an uplift in corporate business in the first six months of 2015.

The EICC has had a ‘strong start’ to 2015 through a combination of repeat business and three new association wins, as well as a rise in corporate business, which it attributes to the centre’s redevelopment and expansion in 2013.

The centre has won a contract to host The British Society of Echocardiography’s annual meeting, in both 2017 and 2020.

It will also host the Council of International School’s CIS Forum, representing over 1,000 schools and colleges from over 100 countries, in 2015 and 2017.

Its third win is the Rehabilitation International World Congress, which will bring more than 1,000 delegates to Edinburgh with an estimated economic impact of over £2m.

EICC chief executive, Marshall Dallas, said: "The three contracts we’re announcing today are an excellent reflection of the scale and mix of domestic and international conferences which are increasingly choosing Edinburgh as their destination. That’s great news for us and great news for the city. We’re on track for a strong half-year performance, something we’ll be reporting on later in the summer."
