Starwood Hotels & Resorts has brought one of its trendiest brands, Aloft, to Miami, already on the most fashionable C&I destinations on the planet.
Taking residence in the restored, former Ankara Motel building, which dates back to the 1950s, the hotel will offer 235 rooms, including 22 suites that overlook Lake Pancoast.
However, the tried-and-tested Aloft template remains. The propery includes the W XYZ? Bar, with its own herb garden, solely used for cocktail ingredients; the Re:mix lounge, offering a live music series and craft cocktails; and the Re:fuel café, a snack outlet serving Nespresso coffee. The signature, all-day dining outlet is Continental Miami, by restauranteur Stephen Starr.
Leisure amenities include the 24-hour Re:charge gym and fitness center, a splash pool with solar-powered tablet- and smartphone-charging outlets and a 'plunge deck' with 'infinity water feature'.
For events, Aloft South Beach’s three 'creative' meeting spaces total 232sqm, able to host a maximum of 80, theatre-style when combined. The hotel's location just 12 miles from Miami International Airport (MIA), is an added bonus for meetings.
