The Big Bang programme of UK-wide events, led by EngineeringUK, aims to get students excited about science, technology, engineering and maths, and includes The Big Bang Fair, which features theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits and careers information.

The pitch process for the three-year contract began in October 2014 and included 35 agencies from the outset. Fresh was awarded the three-year contract to deliver the shows after a series of stages.

The Fresh Group has worked with The Big Bang Fair since 2013 and in March 2014 it delivered the live event production for The Big Bang Fair event held at the NEC, Birmingham. In March 2015, the event was held again at the NEC, and The Fresh Group increased its responsibility to include the live event production, film production, exhibition management and event logistics.

Camilla Barker, head of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair, said: "We have been incredibly impressed with Fresh over the past two years and it has really enhanced the overall delivery of the show. The Big Bang Fair was delivered seamlessly this year, which provided both our visitors and contributors with a great experience. As part of the pitch process for the three-year contract, we challenged Fresh to come back with creative solutions for evolving the live show layout and experience. We are really impressed with what Fresh has proposed to us as it understood our audience well and has the proven ability to deliver successfully, as well as demonstrating the willingness to work with us to ensure the best value for money is achieved without limiting the quality of the experience."

Laura Taylor, Group Account Director at Fresh, said: "Having delivered The Big Bang Fair for the past two years, the entire team at Fresh felt very passionate about this project, particularly given the ‘feel-good’ factor of the event, and having built up a great working relationship with the team at EngineeringUK. We are very excited and proud to have been awarded the three-year contract, and the delivery of the project is very much a joined-up approach from across all Fresh divisions. The team is really looking forward to working together over the coming years to continue to build on the success of the previous shows."
