Algarve hotel occupancy rates increase for April

Hotels in the Algarve in Portugal have experienced better business in April than at the same time last year, with hotel occupancy levels up 2.1%.

This is according to data from the Algarve hoteliers association AHETA. It said that the areas of Lagos/Sagres, Albufeira and Carvoeiro/Amacao de Pera were those with the most significant increases compared to last year.

The data also showed that five-star establishments accounted for the lowest occupation levels of the Algarve (43.4%), with more middle-of-the-road three-star hotels reaping the benefits (64.3%).
