The conference and events venue said it made a third more corporate bookings in the 2014/15 financial year than in the previous year.

It has recently introduced a new agent engagement programme and invested in its team in a bid to attract more corporate clients.

Angie Robinson, chief executive of Manchester Central, said: "We’re always looking to better ourselves and Manchester Central prides itself on its flexibility to suit any client or event.

"We continue to listen to our clients and ensure their events surpass expectations; and the feedback we’ve had has been wonderful."

Sarah Lawrence, B&Q business events expert, said: "The team at Manchester Central couldn’t have been more supportive and informative. The venue was able to tailor its facilities to the specific needs of B&Q, including a complex build that needed to be completed in just one day.

"Delegate feedback has been extremely positive and I would definitely recommend Manchester Central to anyone currently looking to host an event there."
