Typically, the sales conference takes place in a different European destination each year, with Madrid hosting the event in 2014.
However, due to the success and positive reaction from Orange’s delegates, the mobile phone giant has decided to return to the Portugal capital, with UK events agency New Independent Conference Experts (NICE) delivering the event for a fourth year running.
The conference will take place in the Epic Sana Lisboa hotel, with the InterContinental Lisboa being used as an overflow hotel, similar to the 2015 event, which was attended by more than 450 delegates from around Europe.
Natasha Pearson, marketing director, Europe, Orange Business Services, told C&IT: "We’ve decided to break our rule and go back to Lisbon next year and back to the Epic Sana Lisboa. Lisbon is a convenient location for our pan-European audience and the Sana property was a venue that ticked all the boxes.
"In our participant survey from the 2015 event, the destinations, venue, organisation, food and content was rated higher than any other event we have run, with delegates saying it was the best kick-off event they’ve been to."
The European sales kick off conference is hosted for Orange’s customer-facing teams to kick off the year and to provide motivation and information for the next 12 months.
"Next year we want to do something different. We are looking at including a teambuilding element with the option to learn more about Lisbon. The attendees had time to explore the city in the evenings but we want to add more to this," Pearson added.
