Claudio Zemp to leave Swiss office in UK for India role

Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau's (SCIB) Claudio Zemp will leave the UK market to take on a new role in India next month (May).

As director for India, Zemp will head up Switzerland Tourism's Mumbai office and will oversee both leisure and MICE markets.

Zemp, who was MICE manager for UK & Ireland, will be replaced by Livio Goetz, who joins from London-based Worldwide Events, where he was hosted buyer account director. Previous to this, Goetz spent three years as manager, sales and marketing, for the Lucerne Convention Bureau.

Zemp told C&IT: "We’ve been looking for someone to represent Switzerland in the Indian market for a while. I know the destination very well having travelled a lot through it and the MICE and leisure markets are very interesting. I’ve been in London for 15 years now and I’m looking forward to a new challenge."

Goetz will begin his new role with SCIB next week, with Zemp relocating to Mumbai in May.
