Stoddart, who left Banks Sadler after less than a year in the role of group sales director, will be responsible for the strategic direction, management and growth of the agency’s venue finding and events business.
Stoddart, who has more than 20 years of experience in the events industry with agencies including Imagination and Peak XV, said: "I can clearly see Capita Travel and Events’ energy and focus on bridging the gap between customers’ creative teams and procurement to deliver impactful meetings and events.
"We have the people talent to bring agility and creativity to experiential events and the knowledge and technology to reduce resources and costs involved in booking company owned office space and small meetings venues."

Last year, Capita Travel & Events made two further appointments to its board, with Chris Truss joining as director of consulting services and Steve Wilson as director of customer relations after an 18-year stint at Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT).
