Since being nominated for the C&IT A List 2014 12 months ago, I haven’t quite made it into my alternative career in catering, apparently I need to be able to cook to be a chef! I certainly haven’t had the time to invest in lessons. Ashfield delivered 1,850 live events collectively over the last 12 months, and at times it feels like I have been involved in all of them!

In October we announced the launch of SPARK THINKING, which has increased the volume of engagement services we are now delivering to existing clients and pitching to new prospects. As an integral part of this team, SPARK THINKING has now become a mantra in my role – looking to challenge pre-conceptions and deliver fresh thinking.

I find clients are happy for us to explore new ideas with them using the thought processes we have developed and it helps to deliver new types of value. The brand has already given us greater exposure to work with more non-pharmaceutical clients and demonstrate my strategic and creative understanding. I am really excited about the future of both brands working more collaboratively.

C&IT A List: One Year On, with Crown's Luke Power

In fact collaboration has been a key aspect of my last 12 months. I have been working with our partners to develop more collaborative solutions for our clients and also been focussed on working in alignment with other companies in the Ashfield group.

It is extremely insightful working with our healthcare communications and insight and performance companies that can provide unique data, insight and understanding into our client’s worlds that using storytelling and engagement we can translate to emotive experiences. It has been a fantastic learning curve which will continue to expand my knowledge, in turn assisting to develop the relationships and value we can deliver as a company.

I did say I wanted to be on the board at Ashfield. Twelve months was maybe slightly an ambitious target but I can confidently say I am excited to continue on the journey, expanding my knowledge within the Ashfield Division and the wider corporate world.
