The group first announced its rebrand in April 2014 following the takeover of London-based ET Travel in January that year.

The company has since introduced four new divisions: Global Touring, Global Corporate Travel, Global Events and Global Private Clients, and The Appointment Group Global Events business is now trading within The Appointment Group (UK) Ltd.

While Events by Appointment Limited has become dormant, all day-to-day business operations are continuing on existing terms. The Appointment Group cites the legal name change as a strategic move to ‘acknowledge the business as a truly global entity’.

Group events director, Sam Robson, said: "The benefits of operation under one company name allows us to more effectively track local and global trade with suppliers and vendors, bringing greater global traction to achieve the lowest costs and deliver enhanced, world-wide, co-ordinated services for our clients."
