Train service launched between Moscow and St Petersburg

Russian Railways has launched a new passenger route between Moscow and St. Petersburg that will showcase new two-storey rail cars. The first journey took place at the beginning of the month.

The trains depart from St. Petersburg daily at 8:50pm, arriving in Moscow at 7:00am the next morning and have four-person sleeping compartments with capacity for 64 passengers.

They are also equipped with wi-fi, several power outlets, air conditioning, magnetic card-based locks, and energy-saving LED lighting. Cars will also be equipped with sat-coms and other navigational aids.

The dining car can seat up to 44 at a time.
