Zurich: city tours with a difference

From stand-up paddling tours to guided walks at night, groups can explore Zurich's history in several different ways.

Stand up paddling city tour: On this guided tour, delegates can discover some of Zurich’s history-steeped places of interest from the water – standing on a paddling board. Participants are introduced to the art of stand-up paddling and at the same time learn interesting historical facts about the city of Zurich along its waterways. The activity is suited to groups of up to ten.

Bus tour: Combine a city bus tour with a guided stroll through Zurich's Old Town, both with a private guide from Zurich Tourism. Groups of up to 20 per bus can discover Zurich’s outlying areas, followed by a tour of Zurich's Old Town on foot, getting to know Zurich’s past and present with a focus on selected buildings, stories and anecdotes.

Night Watchman tour: Groups of up to 40 can take part in this atmospheric tour, where the Middle Ages comes back to life in the narrow alleys around St. Peter after dusk fall. Delegates accompany the night watchman on his rounds, with the watchman telling his listeners "horrible" stories of harsh sentences, executions, witches, plagues and devastating fires.

City Game Zurich: For larger groups of up to 100, the city game involves giving participants a list of questions and a digital camera, as they set off on a one-of-a-kind discovery tour through Zurich’s exciting history. At the end, groups meet at Uetliberg mountain, for a meal and refreshments.
