Spotlight on Cork Events Centre, Ireland

The Cork Events Centre, currently under construction, will offer a 6,000-seat venue located on the historic Beamish & Crawford brewery site in the heart of Cork City.

The new €53m Events Centre in Cork will be the centrepiece of a €150m Brewery Quarter regeneration of the entire city centre site, owned by Heineken Ireland and will be constructed by BAM Contractors.

Cork Convention Bureau says the Events Centre will be a key component for promoting Cork to conference and convention organisers throughout Ireland and the UK. In 2014, the convention bureau attracted almost €9 million in revenue to the Cork region, an increase of €8.2 million on the 2013 figure.

The Cork Events Centre was finally granted planning permission by Cork City Council in December 2014, after overcoming challenges in the tender process.
