BT event roster review still ongoing

BT has yet to complete its event agency roster review almost 18 months after it kicked off the process, C&IT understands.

BT released an RFI to kick start a review of its events agency roster in summer 2013, with a deadline for submissions of 20 September.

The telecoms giant met face-to-face with agencies last January and has also carried out an e-auction as part of the review  process, which is being led by procurement.

However, C&IT understands that the agencies have still yet to be informed whether they have been sucessful or when the review will be completed.

BT’s agency roster process and its use of a preferred supplier list has historically come under scrutiny. In 2008, BT attracted criticism from Eventia and several agencies involved in a 130-way pitch.

The ongoing review is understood to involve a much smaller number of agencies.
