Taste of Scotland

2015 is Scotland's Year of Food and Drink. C&IT takes a look at food and drink events around the country.

Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival: The Speyside region is home to over 50 distilleries. The festival, running from 30 April to 4 May, celebrates Scotland’s national drink through an inventive programme of whisky-inspired events. Events range from whisky tastings in individual breweries to larger community events, the Spirit of Speyside Awards and even a three day whisky school.

Loch Fyne Food Fair: Located in the fields next door to the famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar in Argyll, the annual Loch Fyne Food Fair, taking place from 16-17 May, is a feast of culinary delights from the West Coast and beyond. More than 20 food stands featuring local producers and selected producers from further afield provide food to go and to take home, with live music and bars.

Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Traditional Boat Festival: Taking place from the 3-5 July in Banff, the festival will celebrate Scotland's maritime and cultural heritage, featuring boat races, demonstrations, music and food and drink.
