South Africa to showcase events expertise

South Africa is to underline its experience and expertise in hosting and managing large international events, with the aim of encouraging planners to bring their events to the country.

The first ever Sports and Events Tourism Exchange, to be held in July at Cape Town International Convention Centre, will focus on South Africa’s facilities, and include a range of educational workshops and keynote speakers.

The conference will cover topics such as bidding for and hosting of major international events, the promotion of homegrown events and the legacy of last year’s World Cup. An international hosted buyer programme will give international buyers the opportunity to visit the exhibition and interact with exhibitors through pre-scheduled meetings, conference sessions and networking events.
