South African Tourism is predicting record visitor arrivals of 10m this year and a huge boost to C&I business off the back of hosting the tournament.
"The legacy of 2010 is of huge significance to this industry. We have seen a huge development in infrastructure to be ready for the World Cup. Development has had to be fast-tracked to get us ready for 2010," says South African Tourism's global manager for business tourism Nomasonto Ndlovu.
"We have seen the introduction of international brands such as Radisson and One and Only opening accommodation in South Africa and this is directly related to the World Cup. So suddenly, there is more capacity to target the C&I industry."
