Confex to focus on the need for creativity in the economic downturn
The theme for next year's Confex exhibition in London is to be ‘Imagination', it was revealed today at sister show Event UK.
Duncan Reid, show portfolio director for show organiser CMP, said the idea was to highlight the need to maintain creativity as the economic slowdown hits event planners' budgets.
"Corporates and agencies are having to think a lot harder as they are expected to continually improve events for the same or less money," Reid said. "We are aiming to emulate that creativity by putting together our most inspirational show yet."
The marketing push for the new show begins next month and will include an update of its website, a trade media campaign and the latest Confex After Hours party. This will take place in London in November and Reid anticipates that some 400-500 planners and suppliers will attend.
